Share Your Stories: Random Acts of Kindness

With all the negativity and bad things going on in the world right now, life can be a bit stressful. I often turn on the news or go online and it leaves me saddened and frustrated. Tales of violence, war, political fighting, racial strife. It just feels like the world is a dark place sometimes.

That’s why I wanted to do something different. I want to focus on positive things and positive people. Good news and stories that make you smile. And I want this blog to be a part of it. While I do enjoy writing about my family (and myself), I would really love to write about others as well. People who are making a difference, whether it be in one life or many.  I want to tell their stories and put a spotlight on some deserving people out there.

Here is where you, the reader, come in. Have you ever wanted to thank someone for an act of kindness or a good deed? Or you think someone deserves some much needed recognition for their service to others? Big acts of kindness or small, it all matters. If you have a story to tell, head on over to my Facebook page and tell us about it. Post pics, videos, or just get to writing. However you do it, I want to hear about it.

Maybe you have a story to share of your own acts of kindness. Don’t be so modest! By telling us about your kind acts, you will be an inspiration to others. And hopefully, encourage someone else to do the same.

If there is enough interest, I would like to write blog posts periodically about some of these people (assuming the chosen person agrees to it). I will pick from the stories that touch me the most or that resonate with others. I’d like to send some of these people a message, learn a little about who they are and ask a few questions that will hopefully spread some positivity around. If nothing else, I’d like my page to be a place to go to read about the good things happening out there, at least for a little while.

So, please go to Facebook here: Mom, Are We There Yet. Share stories about some special folks (including yourself) on my page, and let’s get this started. I need your help to get the word out and to start spreading some love, gratitude and kindness. So please share this, tweet about it or tag your friends and family. Help me find these people and share these stories to remind us all of the good in the world around us!
